Windows 11 Architectural Series version 22.0.0.1023
Question on the Section Detailer. 1. Everytime I have to save it requires me to Save As. There is not just a save capability. Is that the design or am I missing something? 2. When I restart Section Detailer it does not allow me to open a previous "pdd" file until I make a new file then I can open the old and then discard the new one. Is that normal? 3. The big issue is how to link it to an location in the main "pro" file. I need to have cross sectional details of the main plan that can be marked and located so that the viewer (engineer) can see where they are referenced.
When the section detailer is started there are several buttons/choices to make. There are also three grayed out area that read "Edit Link", "Detail link Name" and "Detail Preview" Those do not allow input.
Can you help explain to me how to link a "pdd" file to the appropriate location on the "pro" file so that the feature is functional.
Thanks

Hi there, Originally Posted by: Washoe 1. Everytime I have to save it requires me to Save As. There is not just a save capability. Is that the design or am I missing something? In this case, I'd suggest to develop the detail with a different Power Tool => use the Symbol Editor PT that allows Save and Save As. Originally Posted by: Washoe 2. In order to open and modify files, open them from the User Library. Originally Posted by: Washoe 3. The big issue is how to link it to an location in the main "pro" file. To create these referenced drawings use the "Sheet Layout View" feature. Originally Posted by: Washoe When the section detailer is started there are several buttons/choices to make. As stated, the procedures are not correct and PDD are just temporary files. Some additional tips : Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important) => In order to get started, try to create elements or a simple plan not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions. If you are interested, my eBook for Punch V22 for Windows includes all the features, lots of tutorials, screen guides, examples, how-tos as well as images for each setting. In addition, it includes full chapter for each Power Tool. Hope this helps. |
