Hi, I'm new to Home Designer. Just bought the Mac 22 Professional. I'm a SharkCAD Pro user, so need some training on this software.
I'm located in Europe, where concrete or stone walls are more present instead of wood walls. I purchased an old land house with 50cm thick stone walls, and the doors and windows wall cutout are "V" shaped. This means the windows width is 89cm, but the inner wall cutout is 115cm. Is there a way to modify walls accordantly?

No problem: we use / combine different materials including concrete, stone, concrete blocks, wood, metal, brick, SIP, etc. Cool The differences are not related only with the materials, but with the constructive details / profiles.

In your case, I'd suggest that you use combined double walls with 2 combined frames (one in each wall). Or, you can use one door / window with one dimension and an opening with a different dimension.

Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions.

As you mentioned that you need training, if you are interested, my eBook for Punch V22 for Mac includes lots of tutorials and how-to guides.

Hope this helps.

Hmm.. double walls sounds not the right way to go, as we don't have double walls. And the second option, I didn't understood what do you mean.
The software are great, however it really lacks the support for European way of construction One of these is V-shaped door and windows cutouts.

Hello,

First, some notes about me, just to clarify:
1 - I am just a volunteer here (not a Punch employee), trying to help users.
2 - Yes, I know about European construction. I am an AIA - International Associate, and I lived / worked in different countries, using different technologies.

Regarding my answer:
I understood your question, however, Punch for Mac doesn't include Power Tools to design custom Windows or Doors (the Windows Version does). So, my answer was just a workaround to create the desired effect.

If you wish to discuss with the manufacturer the software capabilities as well as the German programs, I'd suggest that you submit a ticket

Hope this helps.
