To develop a 3D object in the 3D workshop, you should start with a closed polygon and extrude it

If you create a line and extrude it, you will get a surface
(see attached)

Anyway, other good way to create arches in Punch is using empty curved door casements. You can add or not columns between arches

If your question means "does this software perform the calculations?", or "does this software provide the specs?", the answer is, "nope, it doesn't" and more, if you are looking for a sw, where you draw a floorplan and the sw would determine "use these trusses" or "this will be a load wall", this software doesn't exist. Calculations must be performed by a professional

The words "permits standards" have different meaning in different Counties
If your question means "blueprints for approval with the Building Department", the answer depends of the requirements of the BD. Some BDs ask for a plan and elevations and some require the structural project

Regarding your question about AS 4000, yes, you can elaborate building details with the "Section Detailer"power tool and link (or not) the details to your plan. The program includes several "ready to use" details, you just need to complete them with the building / structural info

Hi BLS,

Once you have AS 4000, you can try to build your own curved casement with the Door Designer Power Tool. In this way, you can set the curve / dimensions / details of your arch
In addition you can use the Trim Designer Power Tool + the Trim library to set the casement effects

There is other technique you can use with the 3D workshop. You can follow the explanation with the image attached.
In this case, I drew a rectangle in the back grid--> select--> Edit--> Revolve--> the angle will be 180° and he radius (in this case) 50"--> different combinations of shapes / angles / radius will provide different arches
The revolve function works in the perpendicular
grid, this is the reason why the red arch in "in the floor", you can select it and rotate
Notice that all the objects developed with the Revolve feature are large objects (large in kb)

In addition, if you have V10, you can import a 3DS arch to the 3D workshop. There are lots of free 3DS objects in the web.
