Hard to fathom out, but I can't add vertical dimension notation. The left hand menu that includes dimension tools for 2D windows disappears when I select Elevation View. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the prompt response! Attached is a simple example - it shows a section with a sloping roof. I want to add dimension to the Elevation to show the dimension to highest part of the wall and show the dimension to the lowest part. I managed to right click on the roof and add an automated dimension but I need to be able to manually add and position dimensions. I know it is possible to add offset dimensions because I had such dimensions showing on an older version of this drawing. I recently upgraded to V25, but can't find where the tool is, or how to make it visible. The existing manual dimensions I had showing from the drawing I started in V21 can be selected, moved or deleted, but I can't find how to add a new offset dimension. I can see the offset dimension tool is available in 2D plan layout but I can't find how to use it on the Elevation view Thanks for your help ! Glad to be of help! Thank you for posting the information. The Elevation View mode includes its own dimensions tools. To visualize and use the tools, click on the "A" icon (second icon from the left) => open the drop down menu (see image attached). dims.jpg (12kb) downloaded 1 time(s).You can see an elevation with vertical dimension in this image in my website. Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => In order to get started, try to create elements or a simple plan not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions. If you are interested, my eBook for Architect 3D V25 includes all the features, lots of tutorials, screen guides, examples as well as images for each setting. Hope this helps. |

Thanks! So obvious when you point it out. I'll have a look at maybe getting your ebook, sounds like I need it.
