Hi I have a strange bug: the Design/Roof tab can be selected and the Roof options are available, but the once the roof is drawn it is not visible in 2D view even though the greyed out tab for Roof is ticked in the list of Visible Plans. In 2D display when a tab other than Roof is selected, the Roof is displayed as long as the Roof is ticked in the list of Visible Plans. The Roof is displayed in 3D view. Obviously it is difficult when the Roof settings are not available when the drawn roof isn't visible. How can this problem be resolved? Thanks

Thanks I just realised that this problem is linked to the plan I am working on. When I create a new plan, the problem isn't present. Can I fix it in the original Plan I am working on?

Punch Roof problem Roof displayed in HVAC.png (31kb) downloaded 6 time(s). Punch Roof problem Roof NOT displayed in Roof.png (31kb) downloaded 7 time(s).Here are two screen shots: One has HVAC Design selected and Roof included in the list of Visible Plans. You can see the slope arrows of the roof confirming the roof is displayed. The other with Roof Design selected. There are no slope arrows for the roof and indeed the roof is not displayed. Thanks for your help.

So I try again, showing full screen in ZIP file to prevent compression . Punch Roof problem Roof displayed in Deck with Roof Selected.zip (273kb) downloaded 2 time(s).Thanks !

Hi there,
Thank you for posting the new images.
Are you sure that the roof is located in the Roof tab? Can you check if it is located in another tab? Use the methods below.
Finding objects in 2D Start with the first level, in the first tab (Foundation) and go over the following tabs (Floor, Electrical, etc). Repeat the process for all the floors, with all the tabs , until you find the object.
Finding objects in 3D If you wish to select the object in liveview, you can use the 3D selection tool (arrow icon => Live view screen) You can select items just on the active floor / tab. So, if you click on the object in live view and it doesn't become active in the plan, try with other level /tab (try all the levels independently of the level where the object seems to be) I suggest to work with liveview / half view so you can control the plan and the live view at the same time.
Hope this helps. |

Thanks again for this advice.
I tried both techniques.
From this, it confirms the roof is correctly located on First Floor (its a single storey building).
However, using Liveview/Half View with plan and 3D simultaneously visible, I can click on the roof and select it in all tabs other than Roof. For example, in Foundation, Floor, Electrical, etc it is active and can be edited, re-positioned etc. But if I select the 'Roof' tab it cannot be selected in 3D view (nor can any other element be selected as you would expect). Everything else relevant to whatever tab is selected functions correctly.
I tried deleting the roof and re-adding it, but although it has to be added in Roof tab, once added it becomes invisible for editing in Roof tab. Since it only applies to this plan, (not a new one), I assume reinstalling the program would not resolve it either. I also checked for program updates but get 'Error reading the update manifest, please try running the updater again' but I imagine that error isn't linked to the Roof issue.
So it seems to me that an internal setting has become 'toggled' in the design file. So unless there is a way of 'resetting' the setting I guess I'll have to continue as is?
Regards

Hi,
I haven't used Subplans and the settings in the Subplan settings are all empty - nothing at all set.
