I am using Punch Version 21.0.8 (210907.1)
Home design studio 21 on a MAC

I am trying to design a 9.375:12 pitch roof that has a 30 foot span (15 ft run)
Intersecting that roof is a shed dormer this is 4:12 pitch and has an 8 ft interior front wall.
When I add it to the main roof, I am unable to control the cheek wall lengths (I know its doing the angle math based on the 8ft height of the front wall) BUT I have the ends of the rafters sticking out of the roof in the rendering. Is there any way to set that roof (make the angle and position fixed) then shorten the interior walls?
See images attached.

Hi there,

In your images, I can see several issues. I am not sure if they are drawing problems or the project characteristics (that I don't know, so I can't comment Smile).

I am assuming that you are using Dormer Walls. If so, set the correct lengths, angles (both) and alignment. Also, it is important that you organize the walls' settings. If you have my eBook for Mac 21, you will find this section on page 36,

Also, you can create these dormers with the Dormer Tool (Roof Tab). However, this depends of your project.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the quick reply, I used the dormer tool and the dormer side walls are set with the right angle. If I change the all lengths it throws everything off.
I added an image of my dormer set up

By the way your link is not working for me, I get a 404 error

Hi Michelle,

IMO, you need to change the length of the walls.

The link is https://www.punchhelpers.com/version-21-mac.html and it works fine for me.

Thanks I removed the walls and rea-dded as shed walls and it works now, also your links are still giving me access denied errors, so you may be able to access them but I cannot.

Glad to know that the problem is solved!Cool

Regarding the link: perhaps is a problem in your browser? I checked with different computers and browser and it works fine.
Anyway, you can check the eBook in my website => www. punchhelpers.com => eBooks => Punch => Mac

Hope this helps.
